Congratulations, dear colleagues! With you Vasyl Malets — author of the column “Candidates for Delisting from Scopus”! We continue our column about journals that may soon lose indexing in Scopus. You highly appreciate our materials, send journals for review, thank you, and therefore I am pleased to write for you the sixth part of our column — “Candidates for Delisting from Scopus.”

Today, many journals have already lost their indexing, as we wrote about earlier. Therefore, we have created a special table for you — List of applicants, where you can browse the journals we have evaluated and see their current status.
Our column is becoming useful for many Ukrainian scientists, helping to save both money and time.
This time we will look at four journals that are on the verge of being excluded from Scopus, and some of them have published quite a few Ukrainian scientists:
Detailed review:
1. Pakistan Journal of Criminology
The first edition, which was included in Scopus in 2023, immediately received the 2nd quartile due to a large number of citations.
The journal increased the number of publications from 43 in 2022 to 107 in 2023, and in 2024 to 222, and it's not even the end of the year yet.

According to our internal sources, the journal has been included in the Radar system and is currently being reviewed by Scopus specialists.
Reasons:
- A sharp increase in self-citations.
- Significant increase in the number of publications.
Our experts analyzed the content of the publication, and all articles published in 2023–2024 are significantly inferior in quality to those published in 2021–2022, when the journal was first submitted to Scopus. The journal also offered fast publication for money.

Conclusion: There is a 90% chance that the publication will be excluded from the Scopus database as it is under review, although this has not been officially announced. We predict that already indexed articles will not be removed, but future publications in the journal will no longer be indexed. We expect the publication to be excluded in December-January.
2. Edelweiss Applied Science and Technology
More than 200 Ukrainian scientists have recently published in this publication. We have been following it since January 2024. The journal began actively sending out invitations to publish in the multidisciplinary journal Scopus at a cost of $600. Initially, only high-quality articles were accepted, but from June-July 2024 it began accepting everything in a row, increasing the cost to $700.

There is a high probability (100%) that all articles in this journal will be removed from the Scopus database by March 2025.
3. Evolutionary Studies in Imaginative Culture
The third edition on the list, currently being indexed, but all articles for 2023–2025 have been removed from the database. The edition received a 2nd quartile and was registered in the USA. The cost of publication was over 1200 dollars, and many scientists agreed with this proposal.
The journal published over 800 articles in 2024, all of which have since been removed.

According to Scopus' new policy, they do not include journals with deleted articles in the official list, but the "Article Academy" will continue to monitor such journals.
4. Library Progress International
The publication, adopted in 2024 and focused on promoting research in the field of library and information sciences, after inclusion in Scopus began to publish everything in a row. Currently, more than 1200 articles low quality.

This publication, according to our forecasts, will be removed from the database. Scopus to February 2025 with the complete removal of all articles.
So, today we have reviewed four editions that are on the verge of being removed from Scopus. The first edition does not have any serious violations, so it is likely that the indexed articles will remain. As for the next three editions, it is highly likely that all indexed articles will be removed.
