Good afternoon, dear scientists! The Academy of Articles continues our column about publications that will soon lose indexing in Scopus. Recently, you have been highly evaluating our materials, sending journals for review, thanking us, and therefore we are happy to release the fifth part of our column — Candidates for departure from Scopus.
Today, many journals have already lost indexing, as we wrote about earlier. Our column is becoming useful for many Ukrainian scientists, helping to save both money and time.
The journals we warned about have already lost indexing:

— Journal of Higher Education: Theory and Practice
— Azerbaijan Pharmaceutical and Pharmacotherapy Journal
— REVISTA DE GESTIO SOCIAL E AMBIENTAL
— International Journal of Intelligent Systems and Applications in Engineering

We also inform you about one publication that is listed as active on the Scopus website, but it has already been excluded from the Scopus database — Eastern European and Central Asian Research.
This time we will look at three journals that are on the verge of being excluded from Scopus:
Scientific Herald of Uzhhorod University. Series Physics
Let's start with the first domestic publication - Scientific Herald of Uzhhorod University. Series Physics. This is the first domestic publication indexed in Scopus to be included in our section. The journal was accepted into Scopus in 2023 and already in 2024 received second quartile indicators.
We would not have paid attention to this publication if it were not for the numerous requests from authors from Kazakhstan to analyze it, since the journal has published over 500 articles exclusively by Kazakhstani authors and from various specialties, despite the fact that the journal is dedicated only to physics.
The journal has already published over 500 articles by Kazakh scientists in various fields, not just physics. However, it is important to note that only 297 of these articles were indexed in 2024. The remaining 300 articles have not been and will not be included in the Scopus database. But with a 100% probability indexed articles will be removed from the Scopus database, and the log will be turned off.
Some Kazakh scientists wrote to us about how their article ended up in this journal. According to them, it was done by a local company that provided services to authors from Kazakhstan, and, having failed to fulfill its obligations, 2-4 years ago, took such a step.
The journal has already been included in Scopus's scope and is undergoing re-evaluation. According to our forecasts, the journal will be excluded from the Scopus database and the articles will be de-indexed by the end of 2024.
Journal of Ecohumanism
The second publication on our list today is the Journal of Ecohumanism.
The publication was founded in 2022, and at the end of 2023 it was included in Scopus. In our expert opinion, this publication was specially created for such purposes. Having entered the index at the end of 2024, the journal actively began to invite scientists to publish, offering publications in the second quartile for $ 1250. And the number of issues sharply increased from two per year to six per year.
Until the third issue of 2024, the journal published high-quality and thematic articles, but from the third issue it began to actively publish everything in a row. In issues 3 and 4, the journal published over 400 articles on various topics unrelated to the journal.
Scopus currently has only 29 articles indexed, and there is a high probability that all the others will never be indexed. But even if some of them are indexed, there is a 1 in 1001 probability that they will be removed.
According to our forecasts, the journal will be excluded from the Scopus database by the end of 2024, with all articles from the database for 2024 being removed.

The Journal of Angiotherapy
And the latest publication today is The Journal of Angiotherapy.
The journal was accepted into Scopus in 2022. Until the beginning of 2024, the journal published good articles on its topic, releasing 2-3 issues per year. In 2024, the journal began publishing articles on any medical topics, having already released 7 issues in 2024.
In 2024, the journal published over 250 articles, approximately half of which are indexed in Scopus.
The rest, in our opinion, will not be indexed. There is also a possibility that articles will be removed from the database. Scopus for 2024 year, although it is not as high as in the previous two magazines, but it is still there.
So, today we looked at three publications that are on the verge of being excluded from Scopus. The reasons are the same for everyone. They all fall into the system's field of vision. Radar, which responds to the following factors:
- A sharp spike in the number of published articles;
- Зміна географічного розмаїття авторів;
- Changing the topics of publications compared to the goals and scope of the journal;
- A very active surge in citations or, conversely, a serious decline.
This time we showed you three new publications that, according to our predictions, will soon be excluded from the Scopus database. Some of the publications we wrote about are still being indexed, but it is only a matter of time. As soon as they are excluded, we will inform you immediately.
