Greetings, dear scientists! Traditionally, we publish useful information from the world of scientific publications for you. Today we will consider publications that were excluded from Scopus in December, during the last exclusion for 2023.
According to the results of the checks, 4 journals were excluded from the database in the last month of 2023, namely:
- Applied Bionics and Biomechanics (Print-ISSN 11762322) (E-ISSN 17542103) Publisher – Hindawi;
- Journal of Advanced Zoology (E-ISSN 02537214). Publisher – Assoc. Advancement Zoology;
- Journal of Coastal Research (Print-ISSN 07490208) (E-ISSN 15515036). Published by Coastal Education & Research Foundation, Inc.;
- Journal of Interconnection Networks (Print-ISSN 02192659) (E-ISSN 17936713). Publisher – World Scientific.
The reasons for exclusion from the Scopus database are the same for all these journals – concerns about publication timing. What does this mean:
1) The journal has stopped monitoring the quality and content of articles, and accepts a huge number of low-quality articles for money.
2) An increase in the number of published articles. For example, if a journal published 100 articles last year and 500-600 articles this year, this is already a cause for concern.
These are the main reasons why journals are removed from Scopus.
