Today, as usual, we have prepared for you a list of publications excluded from Scopus, namely the results of the exclusion for February 2024.<\/p><p>During its latest review, Scopus identified a number of violations in five journals, resulting in these publications losing their indexing status. The Academy of Articles personally investigated the history of these publications, and we would now like to share some of our observations with you so that you may be more cautious in the future, since these journals featured publications by Ukrainian scientists that were indexed in Scopus, but, unfortunately, have lost their indexing. So, here is the list of excluded publications:<\/p><ul><li><strong>International Journal of Applied Engineering and Technology (London)<\/strong> (E-ISSN 26334828) Publisher \u2013 Roman Science Publications and Distributions.<\/li><\/ul><p>The journal was indexed in Scopus in 2022; prior to that, it published two issues per year. In 2023, it published six issues, each containing more than 100 articles, and in 2024, it has already published over 200 articles. Naturally, the journal was flagged by the RADAR system and was immediately removed from Scopus. The journal sent out publication offers within 20 days, completely bypassing the peer-review process. The cost of a single publication was just $400. The articles were indexed, but following a Scopus investigation, all articles from 2023\u20132024 were de-indexed. This is a typical example of a predatory journal that decided to \u201crake in\u201d money and then go under.<\/p><ul><li><strong>Kurdish Studies<\/strong> (Print-ISSN 20514883, E-ISSN 20514891). Publisher \u2013 Society of History and Cultural Studies.<\/li><\/ul><p>The journal had a very high reputation in its field: it had been in the top quartile for several years in a row, and last year the publication started offering fast-track publication for 800 euros. Over 500 articles have been published in the last few months. The journal was excluded from Radar, and all articles for 2023 and 2024 were deindexed.<\/p><ul><li><strong>Migration letters<\/strong> (Print-ISSN 17418984, E-ISSN 17418992). Publisher \u2013 Transnational Press London Ltd.<\/li><\/ul><p>The same model as in previous editions. In 2024, the journal has already published 8 issues, each containing approximately 100 articles. As a result, all issues for 2023 and 2024 have been deindexed.<\/p><ul><li><strong>Stochastic Modeling and Computational Sciences<\/strong> (E-ISSN 27523829). Publisher \u2013 Roman Science Publications and Distributions.<\/li><\/ul><p>A journal from the same publisher as the first one. There were no serious violations regarding the number of articles. The journal was accepted into Scopus in 2023, but it quickly came under scrutiny due to serious violations committed by the publisher with the first journal (International Journal of Applied Engineering and Technology). And, most likely, the journal also failed to conduct adequate quality control, which is precisely why it was removed from the Scopus database.<\/p><ul><li><strong>Signal Processing<\/strong> (Print-ISSN 07650019, E-ISSN 19585608). Publisher \u2013 Lavoisier.<\/li><\/ul><p>This journal did not commit any serious violations like the previous ones and maintained its annual publication rate. However, it is likely that the quality of the articles the journal accepted still raised concerns among Scopus representatives, which is why it was removed.<\/p><p>Dear scientists, colleagues. We urge you to be more careful when choosing a scientific publication. Do not be fooled by options for quick publications without proper peer review, as this is guaranteed to lead to a negative result.
