In July, another fourteen were removed. From April through July 2026, the database removed 51 journals.<\/p><p><strong>At least 188 Ukrainian researchers and 199 author entries<\/strong> recorded only in <strong>five<\/strong> from the list of verified journals. This is a warning to every author currently choosing a journal to submit to. Because this is exactly what the risk will look like in 2026: not some abstract \u201cpredatory journal,\u201d but a publication that was in the database just yesterday and is no longer there today.<\/p><p>The July update covered publications from various countries and at least seven academic disciplines: engineering, health sciences, physical education, law, mathematics, environmental science, and medicine. Eight journals were permanently removed from the index (Discontinuation). Among the July removals are three journals that we had warned about in advance:<\/p><p><strong>International Journal of Ecosystems and Ecology Science:<\/strong> An analysis in Issue No. 11, \u201cCandidates for Removal from Scopus.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/a-articles.com\/en\/scopus-risk-list-11\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">View the analysis \u2192<\/a><\/p><p><strong>Paths to Justice:<\/strong> An analysis in Issue No. 12, \u201cCandidates for Removal from Scopus.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/a-articles.com\/en\/scopus-risk-list-12\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">View the analysis \u2192<\/a><\/p><p><strong>Journal of Daoist Studies:<\/strong> An analysis in Issue No. 15, \u201cCandidates for Removal from Scopus.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/a-articles.com\/en\/scopus-risk-list-15\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">View the analysis \u2192<\/a><\/p><p>In each of these journals, we identified signs of unsound editorial practices long before Scopus\u2019s official decision. The July update confirmed all three predictions.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4170246 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"4170246\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2d999b7 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2d999b7\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>\ud83d\udcca <strong>45 out of 53<\/strong>: and this is no coincidence<\/p><p>Between 2024 and 2026, 45 of the 53 journals we had flagged in the \u201cCandidates for Removal from Scopus\u201d section were officially removed from the database. Another six have changed their editorial policies to such an extent that the database could no longer confirm their compliance with standards (Journal change policy). In total: fourteen publications, whose authors were not notified.<\/p><p><strong>What does this mean in practice:<\/strong><\/p><p>\u2022 An article submitted to a journal prior to its discontinuation may not be counted toward the evaluation;<br \/>\u2022 Publication in a limited-circulation edition constitutes grounds for rejection during the dissertation defense;<br \/>\u2022 Grants and academic titles tied to Scopus publications are also at risk.<\/p><p>Our monitoring for 2024\u20132026 confirms that 45 of the 53 journals we identified as high-risk have been officially delisted, including three from this update. In today\u2019s academic environment, the authors who thrive are those who make decisions based on data, not on hopes. Checking a journal before submission is not an unnecessary precaution\u2014it\u2019s the bare minimum.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div
