As of February 14, 2026, ORCID is an official mandatory requirement of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for all articles published in academic journals. The order entered into force <strong>February 14, 2026<\/strong> and remains in effect until June 1, 2029.<\/p><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">For more details on the changes to the requirements for \u201cB\u201d category journals in 2026, read our article: <a class=\"underline underline underline-offset-2 decoration-1 decoration-current\/40 hover:decoration-current focus:decoration-current\" href=\"https:\/\/a-articles.com\/en\/kategory-b-2026-perelik\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Category \u201cB\u201d 2026: List Updated\u2014What Has Changed and What It Means for Publications<\/a>.<\/p><h4 class=\"text-text-100 mt-2 -mb-1 text-base font-bold\">ORCID in Article Submission Guidelines (effective February 14, 2026)<\/h4><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">According to the official FAQ from the Ministry of Education and Science and the State Scientific and Technical Library of Ukraine (updated version 2), section 4.6, the HTML and\/or PDF version of every scientific article published after February 14, 2026, MUST contain:<\/p><ul class=\"[li_&amp;]:mb-0 [li_&amp;]:mt-1 [li_&amp;]:gap-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ul]:pb-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ol]:pb-1 list-disc flex flex-col gap-1 pl-8 mb-3\"><li class=\"font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">ISSN number of the publication;<\/li><li class=\"font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">DOI of the article;<\/li><li class=\"font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\"><strong>Author(s)' ORCID;<\/strong><\/li><li class=\"font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">Open Access License (if available);<\/li><li class=\"font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">The date the article was first submitted, accepted for publication, and published.<\/li><\/ul><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\"><strong>Important:<\/strong> There is no retroactive effect. These requirements do not apply to archived articles published before February 14, 2026.<\/p><h4 class=\"text-text-100 mt-2 -mb-1 text-base font-bold\">What does \u201cmandatory requirement\u201d mean for an author?<\/h4><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\">Effective February 14, 2026, the absence of an ORCID in an article\u2019s metadata constitutes a direct violation of the requirements of the Regulations for Category B journals. Publications are required to verify the presence and validity of each author\u2019s ORCID iD prior to publication.
