From different countries. On different topics. And each of them was, until recently, considered a \u201csafe\u201d choice for publication.<\/p><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">This is yet another reminder that Scopus is not a static list. The database is dynamic, constantly changing, and from time to time removes publications from its index without prior notice to authors whose articles have already been submitted or even accepted. Among those removed this month are journals in economics, education, mathematics, mining, and perinatal medicine.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f206ea7 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"f206ea7\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4e8584b elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"4e8584b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a170932 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"a170932\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b876f62 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"b876f62\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">The journal we warned about has been officially removed from Scopus\n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a79d61b e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"a79d61b\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-dab2b99 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"dab2b99\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">In the \u201cJournals at Risk of Being Removed from Scopus\u201d section, we systematically analyze high-risk journals. This month, Scopus confirmed the removal of one of the journals we had previously analyzed in detail:<\/p><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\"><strong>Educational Process: International Journal<\/strong> \u2014 Analysis in Issue No. 9 <a href=\"https:\/\/a-articles.com\/en\/prof-title-ua\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\"Candidates for Removal from Scopus\"<\/a><\/p><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">The Q2 education journal was indexed in Scopus in 2021. Until 2025, it published high-quality content and strictly adhered to the peer-review process\u2014it had every chance of advancing to Q1. But starting in January 2025, it changed course dramatically: it began sending mass emails to authors promising to publish articles within 1\u20132 months, with a publication fee of 1,100 euros.<\/p><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">Typical \u201cwarning signs\u201d that we have observed:<\/p><ul class=\"[li_&amp;]:mb-0 [li_&amp;]:mt-1 [li_&amp;]:gap-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ul]:pb-1 [&amp;:not(:last-child)_ol]:pb-1 list-disc flex flex-col gap-1 pl-8 mb-3\"><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">a threefold increase in the number of publications over a short period;<\/li><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">shorter publication times: from 6 months to 1\u20132;<\/li><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">decline in quality: short, superficial texts of 5\u20136 pages each;<\/li><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">mass mailings to authors inviting them to submit manuscripts;<\/li><li class=\"whitespace-normal break-words pl-2\">active promotion through intermediaries as \"Fast Q2.\"<\/li><\/ul><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">At the time of our analysis, the journal was still being actively indexed. We noted that the probability of exclusion from Scopus was 100%. This is the highest rate among teams that monitor scientific publications.<\/p><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">The February update shows once again that checking the journal is not paranoia. It is a mandatory step before every submission.
