However, since August 2025, the journal has dramatically changed its policy: mass mailings with invitations to publish have begun, and the publication has begun to position itself as a \u201cmultidisciplinary journal.\u201d This has raised serious doubts among the scientific community, because even the name makes it clear that the journal should be narrowly focused.<\/span><\/p><p><span >A large number of articles were published in a short period of time, many of which have nothing to do with architecture or design. However, in the second half of 2025, the editorial board began actively sending out invitations to publish, promising quick publication for $1,200.<\/p><p data-start=\"3171\" data-end=\"3431\">At first glance, the journal\u2019s website doesn\u2019t seem suspicious \u2014 the structure and archive look standard. However, during communication with the editorial staff, it was discovered that the journal had significantly changed its Scope, making it \u201ceverything about everything.\u201d This is a classic signal of a transition to a predatory model.<\/p><p data-start=\"3433\" data-end=\"3706\">The peculiarity of this publication is that it has not yet started to publish materials en masse, but is only actively recruiting manuscripts in order to then release a large issue with hundreds of articles in one day. This is a typical scenario for \u201cyoung\u201d predatory journals that are preparing for monetization.<\/p><p data-start=\"3708\" data-end=\"3866\"><strong data-start=\"3708\" data-end=\"3728\">Magazine profile:<\/strong><br data-start=\"3728\" data-end=\"3731\" \/>Quartile: Q2<br data-start=\"3743\" data-end=\"3746\" \/>Country: Netherlands<br data-start=\"3764\" data-end=\"3767\" \/>Subjects: sociology, cultural studies, interdisciplinary studies<br data-start=\"3832\" data-end=\"3835\" \/>Publication cost: 1200 USD<\/p><p data-start=\"3868\" data-end=\"3892\"><strong data-start=\"3868\" data-end=\"3890\">Main violations:<\/strong><\/p><ul data-start=\"3893\" data-end=\"4160\"><li data-start=\"3893\" data-end=\"3945\"><p data-start=\"3895\" data-end=\"3945\">Mass mailings with promises of quick publication.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"3946\" data-end=\"3994\"><p data-start=\"3948\" data-end=\"3994\">Accepting articles without proper peer review.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"3995\" data-end=\"4081\"><p data-start=\"3997\" data-end=\"4081\">Changing the scope of the journal to &quot;multidisciplinary&quot; without official notification to Scopus.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"4082\" data-end=\"4160\"><p data-start=\"4084\" data-end=\"4160\">Preparing for mass publication of a large number of articles in a short time.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"4162\" data-end=\"4380\"><strong data-start=\"4162\" data-end=\"4182\">Current status:<\/strong><br data-start=\"4182\" data-end=\"4185\" \/>The journal is currently active and continues to publish, but is in a \u201cgray zone\u201d of monitoring. The editorial staff has begun publishing articles on topics that have nothing to do with jurisprudence: from architecture and art to medicine and artificial intelligence.<\/p><p data-start=\"5301\" data-end=\"5536\">The journal, which used to have one issue a year, has now published three in a row, publishing over 150 articles\u2014more than in the previous five years combined.
