Scopus is currently a large-scale scientometric database worldwide. It includes scientific journals from different countries, including Ukraine. Thanks to this international service a scientist can find suitable material for his scientific works and improve research in different areas. On the Scopus platform you can find a lot of valuable information: scientific records, research papers, information about scientists and scientific journals. Modern researchers and scientists choose this publisher to publish their work, because indexing a scientific paper in Scopus allows you to improve your ranking, develop in your career, and receive titles. But, at the same time, indexing here is difficult, because in order to publish a paper you have to pass a careful selection, and meet all the requirements that the publication imposes on scientific work.
To date, 137 Ukrainian publications are indexed in Scopus databases. The journals that are indexed in the presented database can be seen on the official website, after they have undergone a thorough selection. All works are checked by the Content Selection & Advisory Board, CSAB. It consists of librarians, scientists. It is their responsibility to check all titles that qualify for inclusion in the database.
In order for a journal to publish the work of a researcher, it is first and foremost important that the work should make a scientific contribution to the discipline in which the researcher works. At the same time, it must meet the goals of the scientific publication. A high quality of the work is mandatory.
The originality of the article is an important aspect. Therefore, the topic of a scientific paper should bear a new character in the direction already studied, or was a novelty. Therefore, a scientist, before starting to write a paper, should analyze the existing discoveries in the direction in which he works. It is also important to choose a scholarly journal that is relevant to the topic of the research. This is necessary to increase the chances of publication. Since, today, not many Ukrainian journals are indexed in Scopus, you can "manually" check the selected journal by viewing the full list on the websites. Below is a table of a sample list of journals that are indexed in Scopus.

Next, let us give some detailed explanations of the columns of the table. Thus, the ISSN is an international standard serial number that allows us to identify any publication. It does not matter in what language and where it was published, or on what medium. This serial number is assigned to printed and electronic periodicals.
The figures in the Scopus snip column (2020) show the citation level of the article. Here we mean how many citations a scientific work has actually received and the ratio of this value to the predicted number in a certain publication. The higher the value, the more important the publication is. But even if this indicator is low, it is likely that the journal has been included in the database recently, and therefore it does not yet have a sufficiently high reputation. In this case, it is better to additionally check the publication using other criteria, or by asking for help from specialists.
It should be noted that even if the publication has published a paper, the researcher must wait until his article will be indexed. If this does not happen, it is better to contact specialists who work in scientific consulting. They will be able to help solve difficulties with the publication. If the work is returned for revision, it is necessary to make the changes indicated by the reviewer. Only in this case science is born, which in its novelty and depth creates the necessary world changes in the field, in which the researcher works.
